Made as a city of seven hills, its name comes from Olisipus, a name that was originally possessed before the Roman occupation, in 205 BC. Located in an area of ​​high seismic intensity, it suffered several earthquakes over two centuries, including the earthquake of 1755, followed by a tsunami and fire, destroying the coastal area of ​​the city.
