Evora historical sites full-day tour.
Departure in the direction of Évora with passage on the 25 de Abril bridge. Heading to Évora, visit Praça do Giraldo, the Castle, and the majestic Temple of Diana. We suggest a stop for lunch in a typical restaurant and then visit Capela dos Ossos, Sé, and Igreja de São Francisco.
Évora is located in the center of Alentejo. with its original name Ébora, it was a city defended by a fort castle and surrounded by solid walls when the army of King D. Afonso Henriques, commanded by Geraldo “Sem Pavor”, conquered the Mouros in 1165. Two main monuments we highlight are the Roman Temple of Diana, the Sé, the Igreja de São Francisco, Capela dos Ossos, and Praça do Giraldo.
Giraldo Square is in the center of Évora and is considered the central square of the city. Among the two constructions of the 16th century, the Igreja de Santo Antão and a fountain were originally built between 1571 and 1573 in white marble, topped by a Renaissance-style bronze crown considered a unique piece of its kind in the region. Through crossings, patios, and wheels in this praça, we find an exit to all the streets that lead us to all the points of the city.
